Hi. I lived with my father, brother and grandparents at Brendamor, 10 Vardys Road , Seven Hills from 1960 to 1968 until I was 10. Our house was weatherboard at first and then clad with a brick veneer. Our house was knocked down many years ago when that part of Vardys Road became Solander Road. We had a poultry farm and small orchard and about an acre of blackberries. We lived next door to George and Moya Martin on one side and old Mrs Ford on the other side. The Theodotous and Karaviers lived on our side of the street closer to Mt Carmel Hospital. There was a Maltese vegetable farm on our side towards a horse property (now Kings Langley). The vegetable farm was formerly owned by the Noddler family. At the back of us on the Parklea side was a dairy farm owned by the Nobles. Across the road was housing commission with many nationalities and lots of kids to play with. I went to Seven Hills Road North Public School. It had, at that time, about 30 students from Kindergarten to 6th Class. Mr Gallagher, then, was the only teacher. This school's head master, back in 1900, was my great grandfather, George Dumbrell. I went to school with Robert Lasseter who was the grandson of the explorer (Lasseter's Last Ride, Lassiter's lost gold reef). Andrew Jessup Bateau Bay, NSW
